“The Compost Bin” song is written and sung by Grammy award winning Lisa Loeb and Annie Nominated Voice Over artist Debi Derryberry. The song is a fun approach to teaching kids how to compost, what goes in it, what it is and that it STINKS!

“These two acclaimed musicians have collaborated on a really terrific little tune on the big importance of composting. Loeb and Derryberry utilize all the right ingredients in composing this song. There is a catchy, bouncy melody. There are fun but true-to-life lyrics (about wanting to snack after soccer practice as well as having to rake up leaves). There is the clear but not heavy-handed delivery of the song’s message (“throw green things into the compost bin”). And it’s all conveyed through the duo’s sweetly sung vocals. But don’t get me wrong – they don’t sugar-coat the issue. This impressive, anthemic song revolves around one of the best – and truest – lines about composting: “It may stink but it makes you think.””
