Our NAPPA team is excited to introduce our first winner in our new “Community Giving Awards” category. The non-profit Compassionate Hearts for Kids was started by Christina and Richard Wood, parents with two sons born with a genetic immune disorder requiring many hospital visits. When a close friend gave their younger son, Caden, a teddy bear to comfort him during his hospital stay, a special bond was formed. The “Caden Project” was born to help bring that same comfort to kids in hospitals around the country.
“A Bear Finds His Purpose” is the first outreach of the Caden Project. The book and bear combo tells the family’s story with the goal of bringing joy to kids in need of hospitalization. All proceeds from the book sales will go towards The Caden Project to help reach more children. For more information on the organization, visit compassionateheartsforkids.org.
