“Just in time for the Halloween season, children’s music superstar Laurie Berkner has assembled a great playlist of her own Halloween-related songs. Launching this record is “Halloween Train,” which definitely gets the musical festivities off on the right track (pun intended). The album takes listeners on an entertaining Halloween adventure. It starts with the basics as Berkner asks costume seekers the musical questions “What Am I Gonna Be (for Halloween)?” and then there is the counting song, “I Picked One Pumpkin”. Then there is a cute encounter with a “Peek-A-Boo Ghost,” a rendezvous with the Berkner classic “Monster Boogie” and the lightly quizzical, totally punny “Which Witch.” The playful “Treat Or Treat” pairs nicely with the jazzy “Choc-o-lot In My Pock-o-lot”. The album also includes some autumnal numbers, like “Hayride” and “The Owls”, along with some of her older tunes (like “Moon, Moon, Moon” and “What Falls In the Fall”) that are thematic fit. There is even a Halloween-inspired update to her well-known song “Waiting For The Elevator.” Berkner has fashioned an album that will enliven any kids’ Halloween party – or just provide a great soundtrack for a ride to pick a pumpkin or a Halloween costume.”
