“There is no disputing that Sharon, Lois, and Bram rank as children’s music icons, as they have been entertaining five generations of audiences with their warmhearted music. This collection of recordings, as the title suggests, focuses on the group’s twangier tunes. A Little Bit Country collects selections hailing from throughout the trio’s long, storied career, and most of the songs feature all three members (Lois passed away in 2015). The 26-track set is stocked with a barnyard full of high-spirited tunes to do-si-do to, including traditional favorites like “She’ll Be Comin’ Round The Mountain,” “Mairzy Dotes,” “Riding Along (Singing A Cowboy Song),” “Rattlin’ Bog,” and “Little Liza Jane,” Additionally, this compilation contains seven previously unreleased recordings, including interpretations of such old standards as “Tennessee Wig Walk” and “Give Me The Simple Life.” And speaking standards, the nearly hour-long album concludes with a brief rendition of Sharon, Lois, And Bram’s signature tune, “Skinnamarink,” Fans of family music will shout a big “yee-haw” in delight listening to A Little Bit Country.”
