We are excited for this environmentally-focused game series from Adventerra Games. There are four board games in the series including: Global Warming, PowerHaus, Recycle Rally and WaterGames.
Global Warming: Players work together to clean up the earth and slow climate change while the temperature rises with each turn. Can you and your friends slow it down before “Game Over” happens for you AND Planet Earth? Teamwork and up to 90 minutes of play is needed to win. Ideal for 4 to 7 players. Makes a terrific multi-generational game night. Open the box and distribute the scoreboard, 87 solution cards, 57 problem cards, banknotes, 3 dice, 1 disk plus illustrated rules. Ages 10+
PowerHaus: This game teaches kids they have real power to fight climate change. Players are housemates trying to reduce utility bills with energy-saving habits. As you move through the game, decide which investments in technologies are better for your wallet and the world. Open the box and spread out a game board, 67 game cards, 4 tokens, 4 diskettes, 3 dice, banknotes, and illustrated rules. Made for 3 to 4 players. Set aside an hour and learn how to save lots of energy and reduce your home electric bills. Ages 7+
Recycle Rally: If too many recyclables are left behind, useful stuff is incinerated and the whole town is in trouble. The rules also feature an advanced game mode, recommended for ages 10 and up. Recycle Rally is perfect for 3 to 5 players. Game time is about 45 minutes. Ages 7+
WaterGames: Learn the value of clean water in this cooperative game. Players roll dice, float down the river, and draw “Savings” or “Wasting” cards. Unlucky players must rely on the community water jug, which requires donations from players who have saved more water. If the jug is empty when someone needs it, everyone loses – so let the negotiations begin. Ideal for 3 to 4 players. Play can be completed in about 30 minutes. Ages 7+
Evaluation comments:
“These games are great for families (family game night) and for teachers (great for rainy days or a treat for a small group of students).”
“We like that these games teache collaboration and working toward a common goal.”
“Fun to play and educational”
“Teaches strategy and critical thinking skills”
“In the Global Warming Game, important issues such as solid waste, deforestation, nuclear energy, water pollutions, oil spills, acid rain, CO2, smog and greenhouse gases are covered.”
“In the PowerHaus Game logical methods to save energy are presented and players are encouraged to make new habits (e.g., turn off the water when you brush your teeth, put on a sweater instead of turning up the heat, hang laundry to dry rather then use the dryer) and to make good choices. There are a lot of math skills in this game, which is a great bonus.”
