“Andrew and Polly earned a best Children’s Music Album nomination for Ahhhhh! and with good reason. Its 11 tracks showcase hooky, genre-blurry arrangements and smart yet also amusing lyrics, which result in a lovely listening experience for children and parents alike. On Ahhhhh!, Andrew and Polly are particularly adept in creating songs about inner emotions that hold a universality that connect easily with listeners. The new wave-y rocker “Let’s Get Mad” and the tremendous title track “I’ve Got A Problem (Ahhhhh!)”, for example, insightfully discuss positive ways to deal with one’s feelings. “Get To Work,” “Brainstorm,” and “The Scientific Method” are super catchy numbers that basically extol the virtues of thinking. But don’t go thinking that Ahhhhh! is all heady stuff. The Los Angeles-based husband-and-wife duo also stock this album with fun-stuffed ditties like “Rainbow Shoppe” and “Danger Baby,” a sublime spy-spoof song that parents and older siblings can share a laugh over. Notable too are the album’s opening and closing tunes. Track #1 is a marvelously inspired cover of “Growing Up,” by the acclaimed teenaged rockers The Linda Lindas, while Track #11 holds the gentle, deeply felt “Square One,” which could (and should) be a hit song on any Billboard chart. Simply put: Ahhhhh! is totally ahhhhh-some!”
