Bring the excitement of cooking shows into the game room with the Cake-N-Bake Challenge, a fast-paced, color-matching, cake-building game from Hey Buddy Hey Pal where the “fastest baker wins!”
Complete with colorful, textured foam cake slices, icing cards with toppings ranging from multi-colored candies and gummy pandas to strawberries and the classic rainbow sprinkles, the pressure is on to stack your cake correctly! Watch out for those Special Action Cards because they can be a recipe for disaster, like the One-Hand Card where you can only use one hand to bake, or the Burnt Cake Card where you miss a turn! Look for the Mystery Cake Card because you can build almost any cake you want and speed to the buzzer.
There are three ways to play:
🎂 Beginner Baker (Easy, 2-6 Players): Bakers start with a slice of cake (including all six colors) and two different pieces of double-side icing and that is theirs to play each round of the game.
🎂 Mixin’ Madness (Medium, 2-6 Players): All pieces of the game (cake layers and icing) are in the middle of the table.
🎂 Bakery Bake-Off (Sensory Play; 2-3 Teams): All the pieces of the game (cake layers and icing) are in the middle of the table. Pick a Lead Baker and an Assistant Baker. The Lead Baker will guide the Assistant Baker (who has their eyes closed) to feel for the right textured pieces to stack their cake.
To play, bakers are dealt their own Game Card “face down” to bake their own cake. When everyone is ready, yell “bake” and the madness begins. If you get a Special Action card, you must follow the directions for that card before the baking begins.
First baker to correctly stack their cake, ring the game bell and yell “cake done,” wins that round and gets a Candle Card! First player to collect six candle cards is the Cake-N-Bake Challenge champ and gets to wear the chef’s hat!
Cake-N-Bake Challenge includes: 1 colorful Birthday Layer Cake cut into 36 textured cake slices, 12 double-sided icing cards (4 types of icing), 1 deck of Game Cards, 32 Birthday Candle Cards for scoring, 1 game bell and 1 chef’s hat.
Evaluation comments:
“The game teaches following directions, taking turns, matching colors, counting and works on sensory, learning about textures. It is educational and entertaining.”
“This is a cute game and will be enjoyed by younger children and their families or in their preschool classrooms. I like that there are three ways to play it so parents and teachers can make sure it is developmentally appropriate for their children. I like that it is colorful and love the textures (I will be using this with some visually impaired children in my classrooms).”
