Evaluation comments from our music judge:
“Bay Song, composed around the husband/wife duo John Keenan and Jo-Anne Wilson-Keenan, instills an endearing home-crafted quality to their album. This Massachusetts-based couple are long-time teachers but, don’t worry, they don’t deliver an academic lesson on this disc’s dozen tracks. Their song title, “Kids Wanna Have Fun,” nicely summarizes the mood on this lighthearted record, which feels best suited for preschoolers. The Keenans sound especially keen on their food-inspired tunes: “Cookin’ Up A Song,” “Blueberry Blues,” and “Mac ‘n’ Cheese Overture.” Music lovers, meanwhile, will dig “My Air Guitar” and “Have To Have Hat,” while “Boo Boo’s Birthday” is a lovely sweet ditty celebrating a little one’s big day. Another standout is “Einstein Squirrel”; dog owners (and dogs themselves) will totally relate to the fiendish squirrel that the Keenans’ sing about in their silly lament.”
