Why we like it: Sometimes it is hard to make an album of simple, straightforward music, but Andy Z makes it look easy. He delivers a 15-song set of familiar folk songs, from “This Land Is Your Land” to “Happy Trails,” is an appealingly honest, homespun way. There are some nice subtle musical touches (the way the clarinet and pedal steel weave into “Don’t Fence Me In”) and he does a terrific job of updating “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” from a girl’s perspective.
