Crayola DJ is a fun music creation app, designed for kids ages 6-10 who want to learn the basics of music production and mixing. Layer together almost 100 different tracks to create unique music, then mix and scratch like a real DJ!
Why we like it: I like how the app really promotes creativity. There are many different beats, sound effects, options etc. For young kids, they can just play around and press random buttons for cool sound effects. For older/more advance kids, they can actually take the time to create a song using the many different features. It is also really neat how kids are given the option to save and perform their songs. At first glance, the app seems very complex and overwhelming since the buttons are not labeled but the tutorial is extremely helpful. It could take a bit of training/getting used to. The age range could actually be wider and include older kids. The app is really fun and gives kids the experience of producing and mixing music.
