“The packaging on these products are very creative and well designed.”
“We were lucky enough to try out three of the Design & Drill products: Rescue Helicopter, Police Motorcycle, and Fire Truck. Each set came with at least one “Bolt buddy,” which is an adorable figurine that connects three pieces of a character by twisting them together. The boxes in which the toys come in are meant to be used as backdrops for your child’s imaginative play. The boxes have scenes like a building on fire, a bank (awaiting robbery), and a hospital with a helicopter landing pad. I love when products recycle their boxes so they can be used as playsets.”
“The best part about these toys is the drilling factor. Each box set comes with its own drill (batteries are not included). The fire truck came with the most amount of drillable parts, so that was a quick favorite in our house. My four-year-old was able to independently put together all the pieces needed to complete the rescue vehicles. One of my favorite parts about the fire truck is that the cab has storage for all the drill pieces, and the drill itself; think easy cleanup!”
“These are very sturdy toys. My son has been consistently playing with them for a few weeks now, and they have held up very well. The screws/bolts that come with the sets are a thick plastic, and the drills are designed to be used in drill mode and reverse mode to unscrew the bolts. The box playset is a big winner in our house as well. They are made of thick, smooth cardboard that do not bend easily and hold their structure when positioned as a playset.”
“My son’s favorite part is the drilling. He loves using any sort of tool he can get his hands on. After he has completed a vehicle, he enjoys mixing and matching parts/characters from the other playsets. He is also a big fan of the Bolt Buddy figurines and their pets. The pets are a rescue falcon, a police dog, and a Dalmatian fire dog.”
“The Bolt Buddies come in different races and genders. It’s nice to see a mix of representation of color in these character’s faces.”
