Elephants in an Elevator
Elephants in an Elevator

Welcome to the Watering Hole Hotel! Take turns “counting on” as you line up more elephants to get on the elevator. The player who adds the final card that fills the elevator without going over the max capacity wins all the cards in the play line. The player with the most cards at the end of the game wins. Predict wisely and pack strategically to avoid a trunk-filled tumble!

Evaluation comments:

“I love the educational component of this. Because it’s in a game format it is not intimidating at all for kids who are working on their math skills.”

“This is essentially a math game that is focused on addition–specifically the “counting on” method. The number you roll on the die is how many elephants you can fit on the elevator. Each player receives 4 cards and, on your turn, you lay down a card to try to get to–but not over–the max number of elephants that can fit on the elevator that round.”

“It’s a clever game to reinforce a really important math concept.”

“My daughter has been learning “counting on” addition concepts at school so she got the hang of this game right away. It’s a great way to practice. We do not have any other math games like this.”
