All Together Now is packed with songs ranging from traditional rock/blues, to psychedelic, to Elton-John-type ballads, many infused with environmental calls-to-action for families that want to do their part in protecting the Earth. There’s even a jazz song featuring 2x Grammy winner, Lucy Kalantari, about 3 critical creatures in the fight for climate justice: Bees, Beavers and Bats. Engineered by Grammy-winning producer, Dean Jones, the album’s 9 eclectic tracks are woven together by interstitial puppet skits to create a “sonic variety show” for families. All of the tracks have been played on U.S. radio shows- and some have been played on international programs. The album has gotten great reviews on Geekdad, Rockmommy, Kids Rhythm & Rock, and more. There are music videos for two songs (one, below), and plans for more videos. COVER ART: by Elena Fox
Evaluation comments from our NAPPA Awards Music Judge:
“It shouldn’t be a surprise that a musician named Crow has populated All Together Now with all sorts of creatures. In fact, she utilizes a cast of critters (Bernie the Bee, Freddie Frog, Debbie the Duck, Oliver Owl and a cow named Moonice) in interstitial skits throughout the album to help set up the tunes. And most of her songs are about animals too. On the rocking “I’m A Muskrat,” she impressively jams an amazing amount of information on this semiaquatic rodent into a three minute track. “Waddle Duck” is an amusing tune that will get little ones jumping and singing along. Her gift of fun, educational lyrics also shine on “It’s So Easy Being Green” (a catchy guide to living sustainably) and “Bees, Beavers and Bats” (a jazzy ditty, featuring two-time Grammy winner Lucy Kalantari, addressing climate change and biodiversity while also including a kazoo solo!). Crow gives kids – as well as adults – another entertaining environmental lesson with the moving ode “Ocean.” Meanwhile, “Hard to Be Happy” sounds like it could be a classic Sesame Street song as it charmingly offers a positive message about self-respect. On her solo debut, Crow has delivered an album that is easy to be happy about!”
