Broadway/TV actress Rena Strober is joined by friends Jason Alexander, French Stewart and the DOTZ blind children’s choir to celebrate the classic music from Sesame Street! Some favorites include Sing, Being Green, Believe in Yourself, Somebody Come and Play. Each song is meant to celebrate and inspire us as kids and adults and teach that no matter who we are, we’re AWESOME!
Evaluation comments from our music judge:
“Rena Strober’s debut children’s album is a terrific feel-good effort in several ways. First off, it is filled with 14 beloved Sesame Street songs penned by the award-winning duo Joe Raposo & Jeff Moss. Show faves like “Somebody Come and Play,” “Sing,” “Imagine That,” and “Being Green,” for example, are just the CD’s opening four tracks. A second fabulous thing about this CD is Rena Strober. A veteran of stage and screen, Strober is an expressive vocalist whose renditions of these Sesame Street songs will be a hit with parents and kids alike. She also has enlisted her actor pals Jason Alexander, Michael-Leon Wooley and French Stewart to help out on several tracks. Thirdly, the album reflects the impact that teaching music school for the blind had on Strober. Several songs feature DOTZ (the Blind Children’s Choir), while opera singer Christina Jones (known as “The Blind Soprano) performs on “High Middle Low.” Additionally, a portion of Imagine That sales will be donated to the Guide Dogs of America and Gavin R. Stevens Foundation, an organization working to find a cure for blindness.”
