Let’s Boogie! (Rock’n’Rainbow) by Rainbow Songs Inc.

Let’s Boogie! is the debut album from popular Toronto children’s band, Rock’n’Rainbow, led by award-winning educator and musician Mike Whitla.  Produced by veteran children’s music producer Tor Hyam, the CD is a family dance party of songs about the joy of active living, featuring high-energy tunes pulsing with catchy hooks and funk-rock rhythms.

Why we like it: Living up to their name, this colorful quintet rocks their way through this high-energy CD. Fronted by two singers, Lady Red and Blue Elvis, they nicely mix originals with a few covers (“Time Warp” and a funky version of “Hokey Pokey”). Tunes like “Blue Elvis Blues” and “I Can’t Fly” are particularly smart tracks – and “Everybody Farts,” not so much.
