From our Music Judge:
“The Boulder-based duo have constructed their latest album out of STEAM-themed tunes, and this conceptual experiment is a rousing success. As the CD’s title suggests, there is a “big science” emphasis to this 12-track set. Jeff & Paige exhibit an impressive aptitude for devising catchy tunes out of what could easily be arid topics, like theories of air pressure and density. Although frequently bearing rather generic titles, like “Cactus,” “Static,” and “Carnivores, Herbivores, Omnivores,” the songs themselves are clever, highly entertaining tunes that also are highly informative. Parents, along with their kids, will undoubtedly learn a thing or two on those natural and physical science subjects, as well as on how rainbows appear and the life cycles of plants. Jeff & Paige also smartly start each track with light-hearted, little intros that helps listeners clue into what the tune is about. Additionally, their website contains some on-line activities to accompany this album’s songs.”
