Created in association with the Smithsonian Institution and supporting STEM education initiatives, Maker Lab has 28 kid-safe projects and crafts that will get young inventors’ wheels turning and make science pure fun.Maker Lab explains science through photographs and facts that carefully detail the “why” and “how” of each experiment using real-world examples to provide context. Requiring only household materials, young makers can build an exploding volcano, make bath fizzies, and more.
Why we like it: This book makes science fun and exciting! Experiments will appeal to both girls and boys and are fairly easy to do. The explanations behind the science taking place in each experiment are compelling and easy to grasp. The forward, written by Jack Andraka is so motivating!
