Make Music Count is a math experience taught through playing your favorite songs on the piano. In our lessons kids solve real math equations where the answers are musical notes to play on a virtual piano in our app or on a physical piano keyboard in our kits. The Math Maestro kit includes the Addition and Subtraction workbooks, a 49 key piano keyboard, and the option to download the Make Music Count app for free to also play your answers. Through this experience kids are able to increase their engagement, confidence, and performance in math while also learning how to play their favorite songs on the piano immediately even if they’ve never played the piano before. With Make Music Count if you can count, you can play!
Evaluation comments:
“Wow, this is pretty genius.”
“The keys on the keyboard basically become a number line. Moving to the right–the direction Americans normally read–is adding and moving to the left of the keyboard is subtracting on the number line.”
“So the workbooks set you up with simple equations that ask you to move a certain number of keys to the left or right, i.e. adding or subtracting.”
“The notes play popular, mainstream songs that kids know and love. This makes it really fun for my daughter.”
“There are 6 workbooks which include subtraction, addition, multiplication, division, fractions, and algebra.”
