‘Mr. Moonlight,’ the latest children’s record from Daniel Tashian, the producer behind Kacey Musgraves’ GRAMMY Album of the Year-winning album ‘Golden Hour,’ is an uplifting 8-song collection created by Tashian with his three daughters in less than two weeks in March while quarantined. The album follows his 2019 GRAMMY Best Children’s Music Album-nominated record ‘I Love Rainy Days.’ The album encourages kids to have limitless imagination and creativity.
Evaluation comments from our Music Judge:
“Daniel Tashian’s name may be the one on the album cover, but the real stars of this CD are his daughters: Tigerlily (8), Tinkerbell (6) and Matilda (6). The girls take the lead on most of the singing and co-wrote the album’s eight songs with their dad. Now, Tashian knows something about collaborations; he was a co-producer and co-writer on Kasey Musgraves’ Grammy Album of the Year, Golden Hour. He also knows something about kids’ music; his 2019 children’s music debut, I Love Rainy Days, earned him a Grammy nomination. On Mr. Moonlight, Tashian strikes just the right balance of professionalism and home-made recording (the album was created during the first two weeks of quarantine). As a father myself, I personally enjoyed the dad/daughter dialogues on “Paris (Is The City of Love)” and “If I Built A House.” But all eight tracks here exude an adorable charm. Full of family magic, this joyous, imaginative album is like dropping by the Tashian house and being entertained by them for a half hour.”
