Evaluation comments from our NAPPA Awards Music Judge:
“A world renowned bilingual educator, children’s author, and recording artist, Orozco has been promoting Latin America culture for years through his work. The latest Smithsonian Folkways album from the Mexico-born, Santa Cruz-based performer continues the healthy theme of his prior release, ¡Come Bien! Eat Right!, but this one feels even extra timely for today’s world. The 18-track bilingual CD pairs nine tunes, with each song done in Spanish and then in English. The up-tempo numbers encourage clapping, jumping, dancing, and other energizing activities. The bilingual CD also comes with a helpful booklet that has the song lyrics in both English and Spanish. While young children will get to learn some Spanish (and English) while listening to this album, they will be more aware of just having fun with Orozco’s lively, fun, and kind-hearted music.”
