Join the coyote for a stroll through the desert to admire the beautiful groups of wild cacti in bloom! In Prickly Path, players take turns rolling the dice and counting spaces to place their cactus pieces on the gameboard to form groups of the same type. The more of the same type you group together, the more points you score! This strategy and decision-making game can be played by 2-4 players ages 8 and up in 20 minutes.
Evaluation comments:
“I like that this game requires math and strategizing skills.”
“Encourages strategy, counting and decision making.”
“The premise of the game involves planting your colored succulents on each space you land on, attempting to get as many of the same type of succulent clustered together. The more of the same succulent you have next to each other, the more points you score.”
“The graphics, including the wolf (the pawn that moves around the succulents), and all four of the succulent types and colors are lovely.”
“My kids said they enjoyed the decision-making aspect of the game. You have the option to plant a succulent or place a stone to skip that one space you landed on. My oldest said he appreciated thinking about which type of succulent he wanted to plant, and if he wanted to “mess up” the next players’ move.”
“Cool concept!”
