Ward, Richmond Fontaine), Jenny Conlee (Decemberists), Justin Lansing (Okee Dokee Brothers) and Jazzy Ash.
Comments from our NAPPA Music Judge:
“Red Yarn (aka Austin-born, Portland-based musician Andy Furgeson) has constructed a concept album centered around a barn. The dozen tunes here basically are set in a barn or the barnyard. But you really don’t think about this barn theme while you are listening to the songs because the Old Barn is just so charming and full of spirit. I have described Red Yarn in the past as sounding like Dan Zanes’ more boisterous younger cousin, and that’s still a decent musical mile-marker. However, Red Yarn’s rockin’ rootsy music needs no comparison; he delivers wonderful good-timin’ tunes that will get country folks and city slickers dancing together.”
