Riding on the Train is a collection of fun, uplifting, and positive songs for children, including two engaging little stories. Charley has a knack for connecting with kids, and he even has a Waldorf School’s first grade class singing along with him. This music has already been a big hit with children and adults. You’ll want to sing along on all of these musical treasures, whether in the car or around the house.
Evaluation comments from our NAPPA Awards Music Judge:
“What will you encounter when you go Riding on the Train? First there will be “The Bear and the Dog” and soon afterwards “Peanut Butter & Jelly.” A “Walk in the Woods” will include singing & snacks and, later on, “There’s a Jumping Frog.” A veteran family musician, Charley Thweatt loads up his Train with a set of classic-sounding children’s music that are aimed primarily for younger kids. While the songs are upbeat and engaging, what really distinguishes this album is when Thweatt turns storyteller and treats listeners to an amusing tale about an eagle who thinks he’s a chicken as well as when he mixes in some spoken word into tree-themed tune, “Day After Day.” With his gentle, kind songs, Thweatt makes Riding on the Train an entertaining musical trip.”
