Developed by an 11 year old who struggles with anxiety, SUNCards are decks of cards that use evidence based strategies like cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, positive psychology, and random acts of kindness to help kids manage their anxiety. They feature lovable monsters who share confidence building positive affirmations, and helpful tasks for redirection. For every deck purchased another deck will be donated to a nonprofit who serves kids.
Evaluation comments:
“I like that this set, includes 50 cards to help anyone, not just children to get through a stressful situation.”
“Provides ideas to give you a boost of confidence (i.e. “Anything is possible if you put your mind to it, believe in yourself, and do what is right.”) , action cards (i.e. “Take a moment to close your eyes and dance the worries right out of your head!”) and spread the sunshine cards (ways to share the good mood- with parent permission). This set is full of great ideas to help people deal with worries and anxiety, which is absolutely perfect for this stressful time.”
“Educational, in the area of social/emotional development.”
“I like the overall idea — the simple ideas for how to deal with worries. I absolutely love that the product was created by a 11-year-old child that experienced anxiety. She developed the idea as a school project and then she took the idea and made a business out of it. For every deck of card purchased, she donates a deck to a non-profit that helps children.”
“I think a lot of families would get a lot out of these cards. In the deck of cards, there is a warning that these cards are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment and the national suicide prevention lifeline number is provided in the instruction part of the cards. That was important to include and something I look for in products such as this.”
