Calling all superheroes! In Super Wiggles, your friendly neighborhood Wiggles — Anthony, Lachy, Simon and the new Yellow Wiggle Tsehay — have joined forces with the Fruit Salad TV Wiggles — Evie, Kelly, Caterina, and John — to celebrate the everyday heroes in our community, with a new album of 22 original songs. The Wiggles, who will tour Canada this fall and the U.S. in 2023, continue to thrill their millions of fans of all ages and persuasions with their irresistible music and performance style.
Evaluation Comments from our NAPPA Awards Music Judge:
“Don’t worry if you are confused because there are eight Wiggles on this album, the first track “Meet The Wiggles” will introduce you to the whole octet (the other four are the Fruit Salad TV Wiggles btw). Besides bringing a diversity to the Wiggles world, these FSTV Wiggles bring a nice diversity to the music too. On Super Wiggles, the hugely popular Australian group salutes the superheroes found in everyday life on tracks like “Hooray For Teachers,” “Super Granny,” “The Garbage Truck Song,” “Super Ballet Man,” and “Lollipop Person,” with “Is There A Superhero Around?” and “Boom! Boom! Boom! You’re A Superhero” summarizing the Wiggles’ message in an energetic danceable style. Similarly, numbers such as “The Scrubbing Song,” “Put Your Life Vest On,” and “Land of Missing Socks,” celebrate the little things in life. While the songs, as the titles suggest, aren’t especially fancy or complicated – nor are they long (the 22 songs last under 39 minutes) – but it is impressive how catchy and fresh the songs still feel. You even find lyrics grabbing your attention (for me it was in “Super Soup”). These songs also are geared for preschoolers and the Wiggles once again have created a delightfully entertaining set of tunes (there are videos too!) for little ones. Plus, there is something super admirable about being very good and reliable at your work, whether you are a garbage truck driver, a crossing guard, or a musician – which, of course, is one of Super Wiggles’ messages.”
