The Rainbow Rock Band, performing more than 120 live shows each year, is one of the brightest stars to come out of the DC metro area kids’ music scene. The band’s second studio album, Total Eclipse of the Rainbow, is a wonderful collection of songs. The band, guided by singer/songwriter/educator Dr. Kate Moran, has been praised for its positive, joyful, high-energy music, which engages young listeners and gets them moving to an irresistible beat while also enhancing their learning and social development.
From our NAPPA Music Judge:
“If anyone is well qualified to make entertaining and educational children’s music, it is Kate Moran. Well, make that Dr. Kate Moran, because not only is she a long-time singer/songwriter in the Washington D.C. area, but Moran also has a Master’s Degree in Teaching and a Doctorate in Special Education. But enough resume talk. Total Eclipse holds an energetic set of enthusiastic sing-alongs that will brighten up little ones’ days. Preschoolers, in particular, will latch on to catchy tunes like “Lee Lee The Lizard” and “Crazy Cakes.” The band also weaves in some nice Americana textures (banjos, mandolin, fiddle) to their upbeat rock sound.”
